The Count Down...

CAN NOT WAIT !!!
This is the tshirt design for the free shirt included in registration!

NYC Underwear Run

My friend Stefanie and I went up to New York City for the weekend to run in the NYC Underwear Run - it was a "fun run" to get the weekend started for the NYC Triathlon. It was only two miles - but if you look at the pictures...NO KNEE BRACE!!!! I was a little achy after, but I ran the entire thing at race pace knee-brace free ! It was a blast. And we definitely saw some interesting people wearing some very very interesting undies. It was a blast though, and I got to spend time in my favorite city :)

Fun Fourth Freedom Run 10k

I FINALLY signed up for my first 10k (6.2 miles)!! I felt I really needed to step it up if I was seriously going to run a half-marathon in November. I always saw people in costumes for races, and I took this opportunity to have a little fun! I found a silver glittery tutu and thought it would be too funny. My brother and some friends ran with me. I finished a little over an hour, with around an 11 min mile pace (pretty decent for me!) It was tough, not going to lie about that. But it felt great crossing that finish line. Can't wait to do another 10k! (hopefully without the crazy heat!)

Warrior Dash

The Warrior Dash was my second mud run! My brother Shane (13), ran the race with me (and kicked my butt!) The obstacles differed from the Rugged Maniac but it was a great time, and a great beer fest afterwards! Saw so many people is awesome costumes. My family came to watch this one !

Girls on the Run

I did a 5k race in my neighborhood with my 13 year old brother Shane. It was Girls on the Run - which a non-profit prevention program for girls 3rd through 8th grade. I used to run through my neighborhood all through middle and highschool to workout for the team, so it was nice to be running in my neighborhood again. :) I ended up with a time around 29 minutes :)

Girls on the Run of Union County is an affiliate of Girls on the Run International (www.girlsontherun.org) which has a network of 160 locations across the United States and Canada.

Rugged Maniac

The Rugged Maniac was my first mud run! It's a 5k obstacle course race that has around 20 obstacles with walls up to 12' high, mud pits with barbed wire, slides, fire jumps, ect. The run itself wasn't too bad! But going over some of the obstacles with my knee was a little tough, but I finished ! ( AND ran the entire race !)

The Color Run (Atlanta)

My first race back into the game was The Color Run in Atlanta, GA!  Some friends of mine were going down and running it for her 21st birthday and invited me. It was a BLAST! I was able to run the whole time, with little pain, and it was a ton of fun. If you're a runner, this is definitely a "fun-run" everyone should experience.
